Gwyneth Paltrow, who’s right and who’s wrong…

Gwyneth and Kids

Gwyneth and Kids

Gwyneth Paltrow announced that she will take a break from acting to spend more time with her two children. In an interview with E! News she stated that “things are more difficult for her than other moms, because of the demanding nature and unpredictable schedule of her acting career.”

Grabbing the Media’s attention along with every working mom out there, Mackenzie Dawson decided to respond back with “A working mom’s Open letter to Gwyneth” in the New York Post.”

Once I finished this article I sent the link to my friend Liz; she too is a working mom. Liz opened my eyes saying “I bet it is tough for her – she does travel, she does have to spend time away from her kids, that schedule CAN be grueling. What makes me sad is that we, as moms, all need to start SUPPORTING each other. Enough of this comparing, or trying to make the case why someone else has it better because they stay home or they work or they have an easier job. We are all just trying to do the best we can for our kids and our families, you know?

So Gwyneth and Machenzie, neither one of you are right or wrong. We just need to work together and support each other. The job of a mother is a tough one and making attacks and turning our back on each other will not make it any easier.

So whether you’re a working mom or a stay at home mom, I applaud you. I applaud your ability to juggle household duties along with work duties. I applaud the multitasking and extreme couponing (my sister, mother of 3). I applaud the long days and nights we spend to make our family happy. I applaud every mom out there for doing the best they can.

With that said, Mother’s Day is every day!
