What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs,

blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and

format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

It’s a different world now, in many aspects, but one of the most visible ones for high school and college seniors is the lack of a proper graduation.

It’s disheartening no doubt, but there are ways to make your graduation the best it can be even with COVID-19 restrictive guidelines. You can have a safe and a fun celebration, these aren’t impossible to do together. In fact, some of these ideas are pretty innovative and will make for some great memories.

You deserve the best, luckily everything on this list can be adapted to your lifestyle no matter where you live. Hopefully one of these suggestions appeals to you, and makes your graduation day that much better!

  • Deck out your yard in grad gear
  • Create some virtual superlatives
  • Make everything outdoors
  • Have a photoshoot
  • Create a high school video
  • Save the date for summertime
  • Go all out on cake
Yards aren’t just for sitting in these days, they’re your graduation stage.

Deck out your yard in grad gear

One of the few benefits that have come out of the pandemic is the creativity of the graduating classes. Because they often could not have in-person graduation at their schools, they’d celebrate instead with a drive-by graduation along with the virtual one.

The best part of having people drive by your house to celebrate is decking our yard out head to toe in school spirit. Your school might be giving out or selling banners, posters, yard signs, etc. for you to put in your yards.

You can also make some yourself! Head over to your local craft store and buy streamers, stickers, paint, poster board, in your school’s colors to transform your yard into a school-spirit fest.

And once you have your yard decorated to your taste take some pictures in it. You didn’t decorate it for nothing, you should make use of your hard work. Put on your cap and gown, put on a little bit of color-coordinated face paint, and take some Instagram pictures. The likes you generate are guaranteed with these kinds of pics.

Create some virtual superlatives for your friends

Now here’s a fun activity you can do that’ll make waves in your friend group for graduation. Now, surely your yearbook has already done some superlatives in some shape or fashion. For those who don’t know, superlatives are awards given in high school yearbooks like “Best Hair” or “Most Likely to Win an Oscar”.

And while it’s nice to be given a superlative by your class on paper, it’s more fun to do specified ones with your friend group who know you better and can get more nitty-gritty.

Set up a Zoom call with your friends and announce the superlatives over the call. You can make a Google poll or ask everyone to make a PowerPoint, something in that vein where everyone can present people with their custom superlatives.

Get creative with them too! Include some inside jokes. Don’t just go with “Best Smile” or “Most Studious” try “most likely to rage quit when playing Mario Kart” or “most likely to eat the entire birthday cake before anyone else can have a piece.” These are just examples, but you can come up with specific awards to appeal to you, and the awardee.

Make everything outdoors

Indoor spaces have been an obstacle for more than a year now. It’s still not completely safe for a large group of people to congregate in an enclosed space. Even if you’re vaccinated you can spread COVID-19 around if you’re in close quarters with people.

So the easiest solution to this is to hold your celebrations outside! And to limit the number of people at your party, more of a get-together than a full-out banger.

You can host a typical gathering in your yard if you have one, that always works and just limits the people that can go in your house.

Or if you don’t have that kind of space available to you try having a hang out in a park or on a hike! Somewhere outside, not in a building of any kind, where you can chill and relax with some music for a few hours to celebrate your graduation accomplishments.

The good thing about being outside too is that it makes for great pictures. You can beat natural lighting, and posing with your cap and gown, or your new chic summer outfit practically speaks to the camera itself.

Take out your phone, or a real camera if you have one, it’s camera time.

Have a photoshoot

A fun photoshoot can fix a lot, especially if you’re feeling down about not getting those traditional graduation pictures. So instead of taking photos at a physical graduation make a photoshoot of your own, tailored to whatever theme you may desire.

If you’re heading off to be a freshman at college then an undergrad school spirit photoshoot would not be out of place. Get some of those themed flags and banners, put on a sweater with your college’s name on it and get snapping. It’s a classic graduation photoshoot choice.

If you wanted to do a general photoshoot as well that works too! OCM has a great graduation photo kit with all the little bells and whistles you need for an adorable photo-taking session. Invite a friend or two along as well!

Honestly, any photoshoot will serve. It can be themed however you like, the point of it all is getting you in front of the camera as you deserve. This is your time to shine, in whatever way you want to display it.

Graduation in video form, curated by yourself.

Create a school video diary

What exactly is a video diary? Well, it can be anything you want. The idea of it is to create a video montage of a specific event or a culmination of a milestone in your life. A summary, to showcase to everyone in video form.

We’re living in the digital age, so it's no doubt that you have some recordings of your high school or college shenanigans. Hopefully, you have some from each year, and you can tie them all together in a video diary.

It’s easier to do this when you have a big projector to use, which makes the experience more cinematic if you’re showing this video to a bigger group of people. But that’s not the only way to do this by far.

For one, you no doubt are going to want to share this video with your most trusted friends so they can have it for years to come. And you can always hook your computer up to the TV with a handy dandy HDMI cable and show it that way.

And if worst comes to worst you can show it over Zoom as well. That share-screen button is there for a reason, not just to show your presentation with your teachers. You’ve graduated, you deserve to use Zoom for fun now.

Save the date for summertime

Being patient is easier said than done, especially when you’re riding a graduation high. But, postponing your celebrations for a month or two might be the way to go when everything at the moment is uncertain.

People graduate in May and in June, which depending on where you are in the world, might not have the best weather anyway. July and August though? Summertime is here, the sun is shining, the air has that clean-crisp grass smell, and you can have an even better graduation party then.

Don’t get bogged down on a specific date. Things are bound to change and you don’t know how the COVID-19 situation in your area will be in a couple of months. However, things do seem to slowly be getting better. By August a “hot girl summer” should be at least in a partial swing.

As with any party, make sure that you inform people beforehand of the general timeframe. Some friends might have prior commitments or they’re going on vacation now that things are opening up again.

Indulge that sweet tooth of yours, and get a graduation cake.

Go all out on cake

Cake is the best. You can share it, or take the whole thing for yourself. We will not judge you either way. You just graduated, you deserve a nice treat for yourself.

It’s a great way to be festive as well as a way to be safe. While you usually serve these kinds of cakes at parties, that's probably not a good idea right now, but a well-made themed graduation cake can be just as good if you want to share it with your family.

If you call your local bakery chances are they can do a custom order for your cake, in whatever theme color or flavor you desire. Better to have a good-tasting cake and a good-looking cake than something you can just buy from the grocery store.

But you also don’t have to go with the traditional cake route, thanks to the wonders of the internet there are plenty of weird and quirky desserts you can have delivered right to your house!

The cookie cake has boomed in popularity recently. It’s not very messy, and usually not very pricey. You can buy one from OCM, with a graduation theme, of course, to make your grad day even better.

Not everything needs to be so bleak, you have an exciting journey ahead of you. A new job, a new university, a new place. The opportunities are limitless, and yes it can be daunting, but it's a good thing to gain some independence.

Celebrate that journey with one of these safe suggestions, you have nowhere to go but up!
