What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs,

blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and

format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

Why Send a College Student a Care Package for Finals Week?

Thinking of sending a care package to a college student? Do it!

If you know a college student, chances are you’re thinking about them as they approach the end of their semester. Although it means there is a break from classes in sight, it also means that first they’ll need to get through finals week. Depending on their school and course load, this could mean writing papers, presenting for group projects, or taking a written exam. No matter what awaits them at the end of their class, you can guarantee that it’s going to be s stressful.

Although most students have kept up with their classes all semester and are ready to be tested on it, many struggle with the amount of final exams and papers that are fit into one week. Preparing for a cumulative test of the entire semester is one thing, but preparing for four or five different exams—sometimes resulting in two exams on the same day—could be stressful for anyone. In the midst of all those exams and papers, remember, students also have to find time to study for their next exam. You can see why it’s so easy for students to burn out and not take care of themselves.

When you send a care package from home, you’re showing your support and staying connected to them even though they may be far away. You don’t want to be overbearing either, so sending a special delivery specifically designed to help with finals week is a great idea. While you can’t guarantee that they’ll get 100% on every exam and paper, you can guarantee that they are going to smile and be thankful when that package from home arrives!

So, what exactly should you put into your care package? Let’s find out!

Must-Have Items for a Homemade Care Package

If you’ve decided you’d like to put a care package together, that’s great news! Packages that are hand made are always appreciated, and you can include exactly what you want to send. While the items you include might vary from student to student, there are a few basic ideas you’ll want to keep in mind as you assemble it. Also, don’t forget to include a card or a little note encouraging them or letting them know they’ve got this. You’d be surprised how a little confidence boost from you can really lift their spirits and help them tackle those study sessions and final examinations.

Snacks and more snacks

During finals week, it can be hard for your student to make time for proper meals. Because their schedules are different than they are for the majority of the year, they can find it harder to make the dining hall times for three square meals a day. You can definitely help alleviate this issue by including some easy to eat or heat up snacks for when they’re on the go or in their dorm rooms. Snacks such as granola bars and nuts are super easy to stash in their bag when they’re in between exams, or are putting the final touches on that term paper.

While healthy snacks can help keep them fuller longer, it’s also important to have a little fun and include some chocolate or other sweet treat that you know will make them smile. Every college student would love to get something like chocolate chip cookies, Reese’s cups, or even their own packet of Zebra Cakes. You know your student best, so if they’d prefer gummy bears over gummy worms, make sure to include that!

While snacks aren’t exactly meals, there are easy to prepare meals such as oatmeal or mac n’ cheese that can definitely be made in the microwave. Hot drinks such as cocoa or tea are also incredibly helpful when they’re putting in the hours of studying at their desk. Nothing soothes quite like tea, or gives you a little burst of focus like a warm mug of hot chocolate

A useful addition to their dorm

In addition to including some yummy snacks and easy meals they can eat in a pinch, it might also be helpful to include something you know they’ll either run out of, or are likely to lose. Water bottles and thermoses for coffee and tea are a great idea, because you never know where they might leave one on campus. You can get one in their favorite color, or of their favorite sport’s team, or better yet, include one with their school’s logo on it!

Another useful item to include in a care package are extra phone chargers or a lightning cable that is extra long. This way, they won’t have to be anchored to their desk to have a fully charged laptop or phone. And finally, a college student will never say no to extra socks or even an extra sweatshirt (if it fits in the package!) at this time of year. Because when you’re studying for your next exam or you're writing that tough paper, you’ve got to be comfortable and cozy.

A way to destress

Last but not least, in addition to snacks and food, as well as useful or cozy items, try to include something that can help them beat the stress they’re dealing with. College students would love something like an aromatherapy diffuser with wonderful scents such as lavender, sage, or rose. These are relaxing scents that can help them when it seems that finals week will never end. As important as studying is, it’s also equally important to ensure they’re taking breaks and getting the rest they need to recharge their batteries. After all, they can’t expect to do well on any exam if they’re not getting proper relaxation and sleep. Including an eye mask, a pillow, or even a calming book would all be great ideas to help them destress. You might also want to throw in a silly game or two, to help break up the monotony of studying. You know your student best, so include things you know they’ll appreciate.
