What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs,

blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and

format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Even if the ceremony is virtual, from home, or small ceremonies that are scattered throughout the month, or if you have postponed until Spring 2021 to walk the stage, earning that diploma with the official signature and stamp of approval from your university is one to feel honored to receive.

Diploma Frame

The biggest question that is on our minds, as well as yours: how will you frame it? And, depending on the measurements -- the size -- how can it be framed?

Let’s Talk Types Of Diploma Framing

Diploma frames come in all types and sizes, and all of them are a certificate of achievement.

Looking for a particular frame? Shop OCM where we have the best choices, and serve over 900 college campuses nationwide.

The first thing that comes to mind before selecting a frame, is how exactly you would frame a diploma. A few ways you can do this is by going to a professional framer who can handle all of the heavy work for you, such as measurements, the type of mat and what color frame would best represent you and your area of study. But then there are those who want to personally go in and frame their diplomas themselves. A question comes to mind as well, why frame your diploma? Well, there are plenty more reasons aside from wanting to frame the diploma for yourself. Not only will framing preserve your diploma, but there is more than one way to frame your diploma.

One of which is displaying a plaque; an inexpensive, but not always recommended way to display your accomplishments. This one is available mainly as a keypoint of discussion, but a major downside to this is the open door to unwanted moisture. Without the thick glass containing the prized document, there are plenty of ways that your diploma may age fast if it is not placed inside of a frame.

Custom framing is a little more expensive, but it is an innovative way to show off your accomplishment and even find the right style that suits you. There are many advantages to custom framing, such as easy portability, easy to remove and replace, and you won’t have to worry about it aging from moisture build up. The only disadvantage is not communicating with the custom framer on measurements, style, and what your budget is.

Lamination is another key way of framing your diploma with ease. Laminating saves more time and money, as it will not cost much to wrap your diploma in a wrapping that will prevent your diploma from aging and creating unnecessary moisture. Lamination is also perfect if you are a minimalist and a graduate with honors that wants to use the cords as a frame instead of a traditional wall frame.

Why Custom Framing Is Best

Even though it does cost a little more than other options, it is one of the best!

Every diploma deserves their own style frames. What are you waiting for? Discover your style of frame over at OCM!

Welcome to the time in your life where everything seems perfect, especially the moments like these where you are able to customize how your frame will look and represent your diploma. However, a key thing to remember when picking a frame, is to really consider the mat color before committing to a style of frame. One of the reasons, aside from making your frame shine brighter than any diamond, is by having it stand out. A contrasting frame will help limit  the darkness by lifting the dark writing on your document, and the right mat and frame helps preserve your degree for years to come. One thing to remember before selecting a mat, there normally are three choices of mats: leather, traditional, and suede. Each one will differ in style.

Preserving Your Frame

It’s important to know how to best preserve your frame, especially the contents that are inside. If you are worried about the document, it is important to know these two crucial things that will help keep your frame intact, cared for, and will save you from worrying about preserving it in the future.

Picking the right material

For a college diploma, it’s alright to spend a little more money than normal to help afford the right material to preserve your college diploma. Pick one of the materials to help not only upgrade its elegance and status in the world, but also preserve the frame and the contents on the inside.

It’s important to choose a high quality backing and mounting materials to help protect your diploma from discoloration and age.

UV lights harm your diploma

Choosing a glass type is just as important as the mounting and backing to preserve the diploma from age and discoloration. Choosing glass that refracts UV rays from harming your college diploma will help in the long run because it holds a special grade that helps protect the ink and paper from any exposure to sunlight for any length of time.

It’s alright to choose standard glass as well, but keep in mind that it is better to pay for extra protection from harmful UV rays.

How To Frame Your Diploma

By framing, we mean mounting. There are a few ways to mount your framed diploma without having to go out and get it custom framed. In as few words as possible, mounting is a technique used to secure a photograph to a wall or a display board. Although there are many different types of mounting techniques, we’re going to stick to the ones that would make the most sense to use.

Hinging a photograph to a mat

Hinging a photograph to a mat is a good idea if you want to start the process of creating your own custom framed piece. The first step in this process would be using acid free hinging tape or tissue to attach the photo directly to the mat. Then, you will want to put the matted photo onto a hinged display board, and whether there is a frame around the center or not, you are able to place it onto the wall by firmly pressing it to the wall.

Other ways to frame your diploma

There are a few other ways to frame your college diploma. Go on, get to showing off the best accomplishment of your life!

Place it in a shadow box

Unsure of how custom framing would cost? No worries, there are many other ways to display your diploma, such as displaying it in a shadow box. A shadow box is a deeper picture frame that allows you to take control of your creativity and how you want to style your frame. The thick casing allows for adorning medals and ribbons, as well as hanging photos of friends on your big day.

Design a leatherette board

These adorable small frames are perfect to display on a shelf as a standalone frame. It would go perfect with other photos and awards from college. No matter how you style or even how you frame your diploma, it all depends on style and what fits in your budget.

Create a collage frame

Similar to the display boards, the collage frame comes in multiple sizes. A better way to do this is to place your diploma in the middle of a wide board and fill it in with pictures, quotes, rewards, tassels, and any other miscellaneous college memorabilia that you still have and want to cherish for many more years to come. This idea is perfect to display, especially for graduation parties and many other events.

How To Display A Frame

Displaying a frame is important, but knowing what exactly to do, is just as important. In order for you to successfully display your frame, you will need to familiarize yourself with a few things before hanging up your frame.

Mounting is difficult, but it can be done.

First, you will need to insert two plastic markers into the metal brackets on the back of the frame and rotate them clockwise to lock them in place. The next step is to attach bumpers to the bottom of the frame. It’s important to make sure it’s centered on the moulding.

The next step is to attach a piece of strip tape to the top edge of the frame. If you are mounting on a textured surface, it’s important to mark the tips with a highlighter.

Placing the frame on the wall

After placing the highlighter on, and as long as everything is secured, take the frame and position it on the wall by pressing it firmly. Before pressing it, assure that it is centered and in the right spot that you want the diploma to be displayed.

At this point, the highlighter should have made two small markings on the wall.

Bringing it all together

Next, you will need to remove the level and remove from the frame. Then, unlock the plastic markers from the metal brackets. Next, you will insert the nails into the plastic markers. It’s best to use a hammer to hammer in the nails into the dimpled markings on the wall.

Finally, you will hook the frame and the metal brackets onto the plastic markers. Now that you are finished with that, it is important to remember that framed diplomas should be displayed from left to right, in their order of importance. If there is limited space, consider hanging the most important ones, such as a PhD or a masters degree certificate.

Tips For Custom Framing

What to do and what not to do with custom framing.

A few simple tips to help get you through the various stages of custom framing your college diploma. One of the many tips that we do have is to never use self-adhesive to frame your diploma, and it should always be hung with a mat opening for easy transport. Also, frames must have room to breathe in order to prevent damage from changing temperatures.

You will want your frame to be fitted with a good quality mat, as well as good backing materials. It’s okay to have some sunlight, but having too much can be harmful to your diploma and your frame. Also, be sure to choose a frame that works well with the style of your office or your home.
