What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs,

blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and

format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

Mornings can be the best part of your day. The sun is shining, but not too bright. You’re laid up in bed, warm under the covers. You don’t have anything to do or work on just yet. That lazy morning feel can’t really be beat.

However, you do eventually have to come out of your lovely blanket nest and face the world. That’s when the stress comes in. As fun as lounging in bed can be, when you don’t have an organized morning routine sometimes life can get stressful very quickly. 

Luckily, there are some routines you can implement into your morning that can de-stress and relax you without any upheaval or hassle. They’re very easy to start doing.

A good cup of tea or coffee cannot be overstated. 

Tea or coffee time

The hard part of the morning is waking up. Actually getting yourself out of bed and ready to face the day. Especially if the weather is all cold and dreary. One of the best ways to fix this is to have one of the first things you do is drink a cup of tea or coffee.

Now, each have their own benefits and caveats. And depending on your diet and health one might be better for you than the other. Either way, a nice hot drink in the morning can get you ready for the day.

Here’s a quick breakdown of some aspects of each drink.

  • Coffee gives you a short burst of energy, especially if you drink it black. And can be good for getting you through a hectic morning rush.
  • Tea, typically black tea, contains caffeine that gives you an energy boost that lasts longer rather than in a short burst.
  • Coffee can increase your metabolism, so a good option for any gym-goers. 
  • Tea, however, comes in a wide selection of varieties. White, oolong, green, jasmine, etc. Each has specific health benefits.

It helps too if you’re not a big breakfast eater. Everyone’s body is different, some people don’t like eating meals in the morning, it might make them nauseous. So instead, a cup of tea could soothe your stomach for a more hefty meal later in the day.

Also, having a cute coffee or tea mug is an added bonus. They’re very easy to start collecting because there are just so many options! OCM has a variety of mugs for you to choose from, each with its own fun and quirky design. 

Have a morning workout session

So, you’ve been trying to work out. You can’t find the time or the energy to do it, and so it’s become one of those goals that have fallen on the wayside. Well, one of the best ways to start exercising consistently is to make time for it in the morning.

And not only is this good for your body but your mind as well. You’re more likely to be alert in the morning rather than if you exercise in the evening. If you’re exercising outside, you don’t have to race against the sun when the weather is hot. 

Getting into yoga is a good option for morning exercise. It’s not too involved, and you don’t need to go outside to practice it. Buying a yoga mat can be a great investment into your morning exercise journey as a versatile tool. 

Yoga mats come in an endless amount of designs and colors, like the coffee tea mugs mentioned above. And while you definitely won’t be drinking from these mats, having a mat that plays to your personality with a cute color or design is also a plus. 

Do some journaling

Does your head buzz in the morning? Are you just itching with thoughts and ideas? Did you have a dream that you just can’t stop thinking about, but unfortunately forget later as the day goes on?

Put all these things in a journal! Your brain can sometimes be the most productive in the morning when it’s not bogged down by all the stress and daily minutiae you have to go through. 

This is a very low-stress activity and is all about letting the idea in your head flow out inhibited by the day. If you’re a writer try doing some of that in the morning. Try some poetry, some musings, maybe even a story.

But you don’t have to be an English major to get a full experience out of doing this. Journaling can also serve as a way to vent. If you’re feeling angry, get out your frustrations by writing about them. If you’re sad do the same. Any emotion you have is valid, and sometimes you’ll feel better after you get it out.

Or if you’re a planner, and just can’t resist planning your day out before you get up you can do that too. Write down some goals, then get the day started. 

Water is the most important thing you need to keep your body going. 

Drink water consistently

You’re probably already hearing this spiel from your parents and your friends, and as annoying as it sometimes may be to hear, they’re also right.

Drinking water is essential to your health, and you should be drinking it all day if you can. That doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to drink other things, we all love to indulge in a fruit drink or a sweet soda now and then, but water is what your body needs the most.

If you start drinking water in the mornings then you’re more likely to keep drinking it as the day goes on. Make it not just a part of your morning routine, but your everyday routine. 

But to start drinking water consistently, you need a good water bottle. A good water bottle that keeps your water cold, or hot if that’s your thing, can be quite an investment but it’s worth it when you have one that functions well and looks good.

So when you get up in the morning make sure that your water bottle is filled, and ready to go for the day. 

A good skincare routine can wake you up, fresh, and ready for the day. 

Take care of your skin

No matter your skin type, everyone’s skin needs a little loving. And not just skincare for your face, but for your whole body as well. Your skin is one of the most important organs in your body, and you need to take care of it.

Now skincare products can cost a lot of money, but you don’t need to buy out the entirety of your local Sephora to have a productive and refreshing skincare routine for when you wake up.

It also all depends on your skin type. Some people need more skin management, and others don’t. A good place to start would be with a good skin moisturizer and face-safe sunscreen. Sunscreen is always a must for your face, beach or not you need to protect your face.

If you want to go a little more in-depth with your skincare routine try these three products. An acne-breakout cleanser, a hydrating toner, and a discoloration serum to fight against acne scars. 

As always, do some research on the products you’re buying before putting them on your skin, and if you have a dermatologist ask for their opinion as well.

Feeling stressed? Set aside time in the morning for something you love. 

Make time for a fun activity

Rather than sitting in your bed scrolling through Twitter or Instagram for an hour before you get up consider this—do something that is actively fun! That doesn’t mean put away the screens, maybe just the phone. 

Set aside sometime in the morning for a personal activity that you enjoy. Something separate from work or school. You could spend thirty minutes playing on your Nintendo Switch, or you could pick up your guitar and spend some time strumming chords. 

There is quite literally an endless amount of things you can do, as long as it’s something that you find relaxing. The idea here is to relax your mind and your body with an activity you love before addressing the tasks of the day. 

If you’re not sure of what to try here are a few suggestions.

  • Reading: No, not a BuzzFeed article, try reading a book in the morning. A series of poems. Anything that’s not attached to social media in any way. This can quickly become a beloved routine if you find the right book.
  • Drawing: Some good mindless doodling can get you in a great headspace before your day begins. You can go as hard as you want, just a pen or pencil, or you can bring out your giant box of colored pencils.
  • Do a puzzle: This could be any kind of puzzle, a regular one for a long-term project or a mind puzzle like Sudoku. There are plenty of Sudoku or crossword puzzle books to buy online to suit this need. 
It’s all about getting the best start for your day and making sure you’re consistent.

All the activities on this list might not be for everyone. Maybe you already have an exercise time set, or maybe you don’t like drinking anything hot in the morning at all. Pass on the tea and coffee, that’s totally okay.
